Merchandise insurance

Compensation limits as liability of the carrier for loss or breakage.

GOODS INSURANCE

1 – Law 15/2009, Land Freight Transport Contract Law, which regulates national road transport. Art 57: Compensation for loss or damage may not exceed one third of the public indicator of income for multiple purposes/day for each kilogram of gross weight of merchandise lost or damaged.

2- CMR Convention of 1956 that regulates international land transport. Art 23.3: Compensation for loss or damage may not exceed 8.33 units of account per kilogram of gross weight.

3- Contracting of all-risk merchandise insurance: When the client requests that the merchandise travel at declared value and requests the contracting of insurance that covers possible damage or loss of merchandise during transport, in addition to the price related to the transport of the goods, an additional 1% of the declared value will be invoiced with a minimum of 20 euros.
